AHMED ZAMAN is a Managing Director in the Washington, DC office of ZDS, where he leads a design forward, community engaged practice across architecture, interiors, and placemaking. With 15 years of experience spanning civic, cultural, workplace, mixed use, and hospitality projects, he brings an “advanced generalist” approach that bridges design excellence, business strategy, and relationship driven leadership.

At ZDS, Ahmed guides the strategic growth of the DC office, strengthens partnerships, mentors emerging leaders, and advances experience driven design. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at multidisciplinary firms, leading high profile public and private sector work and helping shape firmwide design culture.

A native Annapolitan, Ahmed holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture from the University of Maryland and remains active in the Washington, DC design community through AIA, ULI, DCBIA, and NAIOP. Outside the office, he is an avid long distance runner.
