Rob Helbock

Rob Helbock, Architectural Designer, has nearly over 4 years of experience designing projects across the hospitality, healthcare, higher education, commercial, and residential sectors. He collaborates throughout all phases of design, bringing a detail oriented approach and a passion for creating spaces that are both functional and memorable, with a current focus on hospitality environments. Outside the studio, Rob enjoys staying active through fitness, and trying new sourdough recipes.

Eric Zuena

Eric Zuena is the Founding Principal of ZDS, a nationally recognized architecture and interior design firm serving the hospitality, multi-unit residential, and institutional sectors. He leads the firm’s project teams, bringing a dynamic blend of leadership, creativity, and strategic thinking to every engagement and ensuring design solutions align with clients’ financial and brand objectives. A lifelong Rhode Islander, Eric is a dedicated mentor who regularly participates in university portfolio reviews and champions professional development in the field.

Robert Macaruso, NCIDQ/ IIDA

Robert Macaruso is ZDS’s Director of Interior Design, working in the Providence office. With over 40 years’ experience, he has led design teams and collaborated with owners and operators on the design and development of luxury hotels, resorts and branded hospitality projects around the world. His passion for creating memorable design narratives brings a unique perspective to the diverse project typologies at ZDS. A mentor to talented young creatives, he fosters a collaborative approach to the design process in the studio. Bob has traveled extensively and draws on his fascination with culture and context to shape each project’s design story.

Reid Ennis

Reid Ennis

Reid Ennis is a Project Manager at ZDS. He leads the documentation and management of his projects, mentoring team members and working closely with clients to meet or exceed their goals throughout design and construction. Reid is technically fluent across the firm’s architectural and design software and is an advocate for the BIM process in the office. Before moving back to Rhode Island he lived and worked in Dubai.

Olivia Macaruso

Olivia Macaruso is a Designer on the Interior Design team and serves as the FF&E Design Manager, leading the firm’s FF&E efforts in both the Providence and Washington, DC studios. With a background in luxury hospitality design, she has worked on numerous five-star branded properties across the United States and the Caribbean. She specializes in curating furniture, fabrics, and finishes into layered design stories that elevate the guest experience. Liv envisions each design from the onset, balancing tailored upholstery details, material palettes, lighting and artwork to bring each project’s design vision to life from concept through completion. Outside of the office, Liv has an interest in all things fashion and enjoys taking her dog Charles to the beach.

Matt Roberts is an Associate Principal and Senior Project Manager at ZDS. Mary Claire Moravits is an Interior Designer at ZDS. She designs hospitality, restaurant, and luxury residential environments, collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to translate each project’s vision into refined, memorable spaces. Mary Claire was recognized as one of Metropolis magazine’s Future100, honoring the top architecture and interior design graduates in North America.

Laura Lago-Garrido is the Director of Architecture at ZDS. Kathleen Moran

Kathleen Moran is a Project Manager of Interiors at ZDS Architecture and Interiors. She leads collaborative teams through complex, multi-phase projects spanning concept development, construction documentation, and construction administration. At ZDS, Kathleen brings her expertise in BIM coordination, specification writing, and FF&E procurement to projects that push design boundaries and create exceptional experiences for clients and end-users.

Juan Manjarres is a Project Captain at ZDS’s Washington, D.C. studio. He designs and delivers mixed-use, multifamily, and affordable housing projects across Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Utah. A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Juan is passionate about placemaking and creating thoughtful, engaging spaces that enhance communities.

Jason Maringola is ZDS’s Director of Interior Design, working across the DC and Providence interiors studios. He leads multi-functional design teams to create interior experiences that are timeless yet perfectly tailored to each client’s needs. Jason fosters collaborative design teams behind luxury boutique hotels, memorable food halls, and innovative placemaking solutions for the firm’s clients.

Chris Kearns is the Director of Business Development for ZDS’s Washington, DC office. He drives new-business strategy and cultivates long-term client relationships across the DMV region and beyond. Chris has a broad range of experience across the DC real estate community and a true passion for relationship building.

Adam Beauregard joined ZDS as a licensed architect 4 years ago and is currently a Project Manager with 10 years of experience throughout his career. His role on larger projects bridges coordination efforts between consultants and supporting staff members as well as managing smaller projects within the studio. He enjoys adaptive reuse projects that preserve history for future generations to appreciate.

Outside the office, Adam enjoys volunteering within the local RI AIA chapter, as Vice-Chair for the Pawtucket Historical District Commission, and as a RI Master Gardener.

Eric Schall

Eric Schall is an Associate Principal and Senior Project Manager with ZDS inc. Before joining ZDS, he worked at firms that focused on high-end beachfront properties and higher education. In his current role, Eric is responsible for managing the Interior Design department for all ID and interior architecture projects in our Providence & Washington DC studios. While passionate about hospitality and gaming projects, his diverse portfolio also includes adaptive reuse and historic tax credit rehabilitation projects—several of which have received multiple awards and industry recognition. Eric is a licensed architect and plays a key role in driving the firm’s growth across both studios, while remaining deeply committed to its long-term strategic development. Outside of the office, Eric enjoys skiing throughout the winter and spending summers on the golf course or in New Jersey.

Pennyson Cabrejas

Pennyson Cabrejas is a Creative Project Designer at ZDS with over 20 years of experience in architecture and interior design. He has contributed to a diverse range of hospitality, F&B, commercial, residential, multifamily, and industrial projects, including major hotel brands, boutique hotels, casinos, sportsbooks, casino dining venues, and luxury island resort villas. Pennyson combines strong technical expertise with exceptional freehand sketching skills to effectively communicate concepts and develop innovative design solutions. His ability to balance creativity with functionality, along with his collaborative approach and dedication to design excellence, has consistently contributed to successful projects and earned recognition from both clients and industry professionals.

Navneet Gill

Navneet Gill (Nav) joined ZDS two years ago and was recently promoted to Business Manager, a role in which she oversees the day-to-day operations of both offices. She brings prior experience in office management and business operations from the legal and professional services industry, and her responsibilities today span a wide range, from HR and employee experience to accounting, marketing, proposal writing, and business development.

Outside the office, Nav enjoys traveling, reading nonfiction, and trying out new restaurants.

Justin Friess

Justin Friess is a Project Captain with ZDS, growing within the firm over 5 years, he brings to our team passion for developing conscious design that is engaging and impactful. In his current role, Justin contributes to all aspects of design and the technical process from conceptual ideas through construction documentation. While his passion is in hospitality and multifamily projects, his diverse portfolio also includes adaptive reuse and historic tax credit rehabilitation projects. Justin is currently taking his ARE’s to become a licensed architect and plays a key role in driving the emerging professional’s growth within the firm, while remaining committed to its long-term strategic development. Outside of the office, Justin enjoys hiking mountains across all the national parks and spending time on the Rhode Island coastline.

Jeff Porter

Jeff Porter, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is a Senior Project Manager with over 20 years of experience. He oversees projects big and small and ensures that they are all executed with the same level of detail, as well as providing mentorship to the firm’s emerging professionals. Jeff spends the remainder of his time with his wife and son and also volunteering as a coach and board member in his hometown.

Jasmine Frazier is a Designer at ZDS with over 6 years of experience spanning both interior design and architecture. Outside of work, Jas enjoys tabletop and video games, experimenting with creative makeup looks, and spending time with their cats. Jas’ favourite project at ZDS so far is their current hospitality project in Albany, GA where they get to restore two historic buildings.

Iris is an Interior Designer specializing in thoughtfully designed multifamily, workplace, and hospitality environments. With more than 10 years of experience, she has worked at leading architecture and design firms in New York City, Boston, and Miami, creating spaces that balance strategic thinking, refined aesthetics, and purposeful design to deliver meaningful experiences.

Emily Noel

Emily is a Project Manager of Interiors at ZDS, where she leads the design and delivery of interior projects from concept through completion. Her experience spans multi-residential, workplace, hospitality, and athletic environments across the globe, combining thoughtful design with effective project management. A registered Interior Designer (NCIDQ) and WELL AP, she is passionate about creating functional, sustainable, and inclusive spaces that prioritize both client goals and occupant well-being. Outside of ZDS, Emily serves as Vice President of Advocacy for IIDANE and is a member of the CIDQ writing committee, where she contributes to the national NCIDQ accreditation exam. When she’s not designing interiors, Emily enjoys throwing clay in the pottery studio and spending time on the water during the Rhode Island summers.

Christos Moustopoulos joined ZDS as an Architectural Designer shortly after graduating and has been with the firm for about a year. Julie Bartlett has been with ZDS for over a decade. As an Associate Principal and Senior Project Manager, she oversees the Architecture Department in the Providence office, leading multidisciplinary teams through the design and construction of complex adaptive reuse, mixed-use, hospitality, and multi-unit residential projects across New England. She is known for her collaborative approach, strong client relationships, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of architects.

Ahmed Zaman is the Managing Director of ZDS’ Washington, DC office, bringing more than 15 years of experience designing hospitality, workplace, multifamily, and mixed-use environments. Adriana Lintz

Adriana Lintz is an architect at ZDS with five years of professional experience at architecture firms in Texas and Rhode Island, contributing to design through documentation and project coordination. Working in two distinct architectural and cultural landscapes has shaped her appreciation for context-driven design and the thoughtful integration of new buildings within their surroundings. Adriana spends her time bouncing around Providence, being involved in the Rhode Island Minorities in Architecture (RIMiAD),  Embodied Carbon Conversations (WSP), and the local Cheese Club.
